On July 12, , City Council voted to approve the proposed amendments to the Denver Building and Fire Code and Denver Green Code — which also included the following floor amendment. The previous building code in effect required major projects to start construction before July 31, , in order to use the Denver Building and Fire Code. The approved floor amendment extended the July 31 deadline to April 22, This will allow projects that were already underway before the pandemic more time to begin construction without requiring them to redesign their project according to the Building and Fire Code and reapply for city reviews.

There is no action required for major projects to use the April 22, , extension date. Please ensure your existing approvals do not expire before the permits are obtained and construction starts. That's interesting 25 psf because the rest of the surrounding municipalities are usually designed for 30 psf, but there it is in black and white, can't argue with that. Read it again.
