But I remember when I first moved to NYC, it was the place to get fucked up —with those Texas sized frozen drinks and half plate of monster wings. I mean the wings are so gigantic and steroid injected, you really only need a half plate to get full. This time I went with the Henney Wings, made with Hennessy cognac. It was good. Sticky and sweet. Like a Honey BBQ sauce. Sam said he could taste the Hennessy. I ordered the Texas sized virgin pina colada, which was quite good.
The beer was served in very thick glasses, which looked big, but didn't hold too much beer. The tempura veggies were good and crisp. The ribs, chick and steak combo was good. The meat was moist and well seasoned. Service was average since our server handled quite a few tables at the same time.
The restaurant does get loud, so you need to raise your voice to have a conversation. Overall, I was pleased with the food and would consider going back. Own or manage this property? The restaurant is very big but does tend to fill up at night, suspect that is because of the above statement!
Their servings are massive! Especially the sauce they use. We also tried the onion loaf- it's probabaly one of the ugliest things you will but they taste amazing Just don't eat too much if you have a special night planned!!! All the wait staff are extra friendly and attentive and make you feel at home.
I would definatley recommend Dallas if you want to try amazing American hamburgers, pulled pork, fried chicken, ribs and will be back next time we are in NYC! Apparently, from observing the constant crowd, it is a favorite spot for many people. I do see a lot of locals here too which is always a good sign and means it is indeed worth the trip.
The Texas crispy wings are great; ribs are just ok but the drinks are really good. The prices are reasonable so you can save money for your other NY adventures. Dallas will quickly become a favorite little spot on your NYC trip list. The baby back ribs, onion loaf and drinks were great! Would definitely return. If you are looking quiet and gourmet, Dallas isn't the spot for you. If you are looking for plenty of food and a little hustle and bustle, Dallas would be a good pick.
With plenty of seating for large groups, and large plates of ribs, chicken, corn bread and more, it matches well with the non-gourmet eater. Own or manage this property? Claim your listing for free to respond to reviews, update your profile and much more. Skip to main content.
