This places stinks very bad, and as you walk into the front door the rails are so black that they need a new paint job.. One might catch Ebola. As my week progressed my experience with this place was horrible. The showers here are very nasty.. There are pubic hair at other crap in the shower.. The rooms are clean and the floors are emaculate. I would definitly reccommend this to any long staying traveler. It's the perfect building for an old time movie. I stayed at this hotel for 4 weeks during a visit to Houston.

I felt like I was joining a family instead of stay at a hotel. The Manger Debbie cooks meals for people staying at the Londale. I know this is a little corny - but "just like mama used to cook". By a few single family houses remained along with several boarding houses, but the area was becoming increasingly commercial. In keeping with that trend, the Kerstings Building was first used as a boarding house with furnished rooms. Its location only one block from the Harris County Courthouse and four blocks from Union Station placed it in a busy downtown corridor.

Within a short time, the building was put into use as a hotel. Over the years the Vendome, Majestic, Traveler, Moore and Lawndale later changed to Londale hotels occupied the structure. The ground floor was always utilized for retail businesses. It originally featured showrooms for the Houston Motor Car Co.

By the early s, this space was divided into several commercial spaces — a use that has continued. With permanent protection assured, this historic building will remain a prominent sentinel at the corner of San Jacinto and Prairie for generations to come.
